Many people across the world are familiar with tribute bands. Often, tribute bands are the next best thing to seeing your favorite band because the singers and musicians in tribute bands are such dedicated fans themselves that they won’t settle for anything less than complete authenticity. The Unforgettable Fire, the U2 tribute band, is exactly that kind of band. Not only do we perform the complete repertoire of U2 music, from "Boy" to "All That You Can’t Leave Behind", we do everything in our power (from lights to costumes) to recreate the live U2 show experience for our audiences. UF, as our fans call us, is based in New York City, but we’ve played to audiences up and down the eastern seaboard and we’ve traveled to South America and Europe on occasion.

They say that imitation is the highest form of compliment, and we take our role as a tribute band seriously because we know that we’re creating an illusion for the fans who come to the shows. We want our shows to be the next best thing to the real thing. Of course, it helps when your lead singer is a dead ringer for Bono. Tony Russo (UF’s Bono)doesn’t just dress like Bono, he actually looks like Bono--and, of course, most importantly he sounds like Bono. Backing him up with vocals and the unmistakable guitar riffs of The Edge is founding band member Joe Shugrue. Laying the musical foundation on percussion and bass are George Levesanos (Larry Mullen, Jr.) and Dan Christie ( Adam Clayton), respectively. All four members are talented musicians in their own right, but here they are united in their mission to be the best U2 tribute band in the world. …but don’t just take our word for it.
