Abbalike Band Bio
Personnel
AGNETHA Emma Jones
Emma, at 20 years old, is the brains of the band; having gained 11GCSE's at school. She has recently finished sitting her A Levels at college where she was studying law and psychology. Emma is also fluent in Welsh and Spanish. Combined with her brains, she is also a gifted musician. She reads music, plays the saxophone, clarinet and piano and is currently learning to play guitar and bass guitar. Emma is also in an original all girl band which has attracted the attention of some of the UK's biggest record companies. In her spare time she enjoys writing songs.
BENNY Chris Smith
Always the entertainer, Chris at the young age of sixteen chose the forces as his full time occupation. However, his time was predictably spent as entertainer extraordinaire to men in green rather than the action man that he had first envisaged. He left to embrace the calling of the world of entertainment, taking his musical ability only as far as stage manager working fro the likes of The Bootleg Beatles, The Welsh National Opera, Curtis Stigers and Madness. His break came when he and the rest of his side line band decided to form ABBALIKE. Chris, along with Emma and Paul, are also in another tribute band called Cataphonic Street Preachers.
BJORN Paul Detheridge
Paul combines his role as Bjorn in ABBALIKE with being a well sought after session musican. He has played guitar with many named artists like George Macray, Jimmy Ruffin and The Real Thing, both live on stage and in the studio. Paul has also appeared on TV and video with such diverse artists as Martha Walsh (Weather Girls/China Black), Mark Steven's from Neighbours and Rick Wakeman. Paul has also recently finished producing Vritish pop band Velcro Fly, and is also working on his debut album.
ANNI-FRID Kelly Williams
Kelly, at the age of nineteen, is the youngest member of ABBALIKE. Kelly ha been a professional singer and dancer for the last three years. Her natural ability makes Kelly the perfect all around performer who uses all her skill and enthusiasm to portray Frida in ABBALIKE. Keely has eight GCSE's to her name incuding music and drama. Since a very young age, Kelly has appeared in numerous television programmes and musicals throughout th UK, including the lead role in the pantomine Beauty and the Beast. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, song writing and theatre.
