For three years Street Survivor has traveled the USA from coast to coast, performing hundreds of shows, thousands of miles, doing what they do best! A From-the-Heart Tribute to "Lynyrd Skynyrd"!!
You see, this band knows Skynyrd, like no one else besides Skynyrd themselves. Ken "Snarley"Pierson, and Chuckie Dallas Bryan actually knew Steve Gaines, and attended many Skynyrd shows. The two have played together for 30 years, and the band headlined the Third Annual Steve and Cassie Gaines Memorial Jam this past June in Miami. With their heavenly love for the Blues, and "so called" Southern Rock influence of the Allman Bros., Molly Hatchett, ZZTop, and LS, these boys have done this for a long time, and enjoy it every night!
Danny Joe "Big Foot" Carmichael, has played with Bryan for many years and traveled the USA from New York City to FL., California, and paid his dues on the music circuit. "Big Foot" - heavily influenced by the same as Pierson and Bryan, is an extraordinare - Leon Wilkerson type - bass player, who, keeps the band on pace with his tremendous runs and walks and talks!!
The performance called by Leonard Skinner himself (the namesake of the band) and Gene Odom (Ronnie VanZant's boyhood friend, band body guard, security person and author, who traveled with Skynyrd from their birth) and a plane crash survivor from the tragic loss on Oct. 20th, 1977, say, "Street Survivor" makes us feel we're back on the road with the boys. Uncanny vocals, searing duo leads, driving bass rhythm, right on drums, chilling, accurate stage dress and performance, takes you back to 1976. "Close your eyes and you"re at a LS show!!!
The band was proud to work with Judy VanZant and Melody, Ronnie's widow and daughter and the Free Bird Foundation, both attended Street Survivor shows. Also, the band has toured with Foghat, 38 Special, Mountain, Marshall Tucker and has a new CD coming out that will reinstate the Southern Rock sound!
With great references of sold-out shows coast to coast, "Ya see Skynyrd fans are loyal and all over the world and there are many testimonials. This is the tribute you need at your venue, corporate function, concert, etc. , "Gimme 3 Steps"Sweet Home Alabama", "What's Your Name", "Call Me the Breeze", "Simple Man", "Swamp Music", and the classical haunting "Free Bird" are played thousands of times a day every day all over the world on classic rock stations."
This band Street Survivor plays the entire Skynyrd list and "they do it so good" - and are so proud to do so!
