Electric Funeral is a tribute to the music of "BLACK
SABBATH", one of the most influental rock bands in history.
Electric Funeral formed in October of 2000. The first Electric Funeral
Show was on Halloween October 31st, 2000. All band members reside in
fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.
ARTHUR W.P. WALKER A.K.A. "OZZY" :
LEAD VOCALIST
Arthur was born in Beckley, West Virginia and grew up in the Greater
Cincinnati, Ohio area. He attended the University of Cincinnati as a
political science major.
Musical History : Professional musician, prolific songwriter and guitar
teacher since the 1970's. Heavily influenced by Blues and Folk Music.
One of Arthur's personal musical influences was his guitar teacher Bob
Miketa of the "LOUIE PRIMA ORCHESTRA". Other musical influences include
: Bob Dylan, Steven Foster, B.B. King, Hank Williams, Jimi Hendrix,
Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and The Allman Brothers.
Band History:
1985-1988 "THE RAVENS"-Lead Guitarist/Vocals. Regionally popular
college band with venues including Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and
Michigan. Opened up for many national acts at Cincinnati's premier
concert club "BOGARTS" for such bands as: LEON RUSSELL, PAT TRAVERS,
MEATLOAF and BROWNSVILLE STATION.
1987-1993 COSMIC STAR INC.- Acted as Officer of the Corporation and
recording artist. In charge of talent, development and audio/video
studio production. Produced concerts for local radio station WKRQ
Cincinnati working with famous bands such as: THE ROMANTICS, FOUR NON
BLONDES AND ERIN NEVILLE.
1989- COSMIC STAR INC. released Arthur's album "NEON NIGHTMARE".
Regional sales in Cincinnati reaching 25,000 copies sold.
1989-1992 "THE VIBE TRIBE" -Lead Guitarist/Vocals. Toured the U.S.
selling and promoting the "NEON NIGHTMARE" album. Members of the band
included : Jacubu Griffin-Drummer from the "DAVID CASSIDY SHOW" and
Tony Clark-Bass from "THE BLESSED UNION OF SOULS."
1996-1998 "THE SHOW DOGS"- Lead Guitarist/Vocals. Popular bar band
playing small clubs and festival venues in the Cincinnati/N. Kentucky
area.
Summer of June 2000-September 2000 Participated in "UNSQUARING THE
SQUARE" (sponsored by the Cincinnati Arts Association and Downtown
Cincinnati) : A program that brings buskers, or street performers of
all walks and talents, to select areas of Fountain Square (downtown
Cincinnati) and the outdoor areas at the Aronoff Center to perform.
1999-2000 Guitarist- Toured the East Coast with the Nationally known
band "THE VAN-DELLS", a Rock n' Roll 1950's comedy revue.
DONNIE HOLMES : LEAD GUITARIST
Born in Juneau, Alaska and has lived in the Las Vegas area for 25+
years. Donnie started playing guitar in 1973 when he was in high
school. He also plays slide guitar, bass and harmonica.
Musical influences include : Black Sabbath, Carlos Santana, Kiss,
Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix.
BAND HISTORY : 1987-1989 "BILLY AND THE BOBCATS"-Lead Guitarist/Vocals
1989-1990 " THE ROUGH NECKS"-Lead Guitarist/Vocals.
1990-1994 "THE SHAKE'IN DOMINOES"- Lead Guitarist/Vocals. Very popular
bar band and winner of the "1991-1992' BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITION.
Opened for many national acts such as : Blues Legend James Cotton, Mark
Slaughter of the 1980's metal band"SLAUGHTER", Molly Hatchett, and the
late great Carl Perkins.
1994-1996 "BAD BILLY"- Lead Guitarist/Vocals. Performed all original
music. Currently, performs with band occasionally as a special guest.
1996-2000 "BIG DADDY CADE" B.B. KING IMPERSONATOR- Opened for the O.J.'s
"VOODOO LOUNGE" ROLLING STONES TRIBUTE BAND- Lead Guitarist/vocals.
"THE IMAGINARY BAND"- Lead Guitarist/Vocals. Band members include
former musicians of the band "Yellow Brick Road."
VINCE FERNANDEZ : DRUMMER
The youngest member of "ELECTRIC FUNERAL" born in San Jose, California
and raised in a suburb 30 miles outside of Portland, Oregon. One of
Vince's personal musical influences is his musician father, who plays
the drums and accordian. Other musical influences include : Black
Sabbath, Led Zepplin and Rush. Vince received 2 years of private music
instruction from Don Worth (very noteable teacher) in Portland, Oregon.
He also played in symphonic, stage and jazz bands throughout his high
school years in Oregon.
For the past 8 years, Vince has played gigs in various night clubs and
lounges throughout Las Vegas. He has played with members of the local
band "Yellow Brick Road", "Black Oak Arkansas, and the famous "Doobie
Brothers". He has also played for the Lt. Governor of Nevada and the
former District attorney of Las Vegas, astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
JAY VAN ERT A.K.A. JAYZER BUTLER-BASS
Jayzer is our one and only life long native of Henderson, Nevada. He
started out playing drums in Jr. High School, before finding out every
other kid was too ! He then found out the school band needed a Bass
player and began learning quickly.
BAND HISTORY INCLUDES : 1995-2000 "THE IMAGINARY BAND"- Band members
include former musicians of the local band "Yellow Brick Road".
1993-1995 "WILL & THE FROZEN MEATHEADS"- Played original music in
local venues and recorded a C.D.
Musical Influences include : AC/DC, Cheap Trick and Black Sabbath.
