They really ARE..... "THE MOST RENOWNED BEATLES ACT IN THE WORLD"
The mystique of the Beatles can never be forgotten. With the help of RAIN: A TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES, the Beatles image of brilliance, originality, and talent will not soon fade. For the past 15 years, RAIN has been the greatest tribute band to ever grace the rock & roll scene.
RAIN began in 1979 as a Los Angeles area band called "Reign". They were very successful playing Top 40 music along with a few of their own compositions - and one set of Beatles tunes. Audiences responded so well to the Beatles songs that "Reign" decided to play them exclusively. They donned black turtleneck sweaters and began carefully studying the Beatles' music and mannerisms. As their reputation grew, people naturally began to associate them with the Beatles song "RAIN", even going so far as to misspell the band's name. "Reign" finally decided to acknowledge the implied compliment. Thereafter, they would be known as "RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles".
RAIN has recorded the soundtrack for two films - Dick Clark's "THE BIRTH OF THE BEATLES" (1979) and "LETTING GO" (1985), an ABC-TV movie featuring John Ritter and Sharon Gless. They filmed an HBO special at the Ed Sullivan Theater where the Beatles stage was recreated. RAIN also re-enacted the Beatles last live performance - the famous "rooftop concert" from the film "LET IT BE" - on a rooftop in Seattle (1990).
Following their break on the DICK CLARK produced "THE BIRTH OF THE BEATLES", RAIN's production of the film soundtrack strenghtened their well-deserved reputation as the foremost Beatles-band in the world. RAIN not only performs note for note perfect duplication of the Beatles' sound, but their image, look and stance evokes memories of the original band that leaves even the most die hard Beatles fans awestruck!
This amazing tribute lacks the insipid nature of most impersonators, but rather encompasses the entirety of the Beatles' era with respect. RAIN covers the full diversity of the Beatles from their beginnings on the Ed Sullivan Show, through their psychedelic Sgt. Pepper phase, and on to their "studio" years. Never is the flavor of the Beatles lost: The music is precise, the costumes and the lighting are top notch and even the physical characteristics are reminiscent of the great English band.
RAIN had a goal... To become the best band in the world at duplicating the sound of the Beatles. Because of their love for the music and their desire to fill the void left in the music scene, they wanted not only to learn the sounds of the early Beatles, but the complete Beatles from A to Z. RAIN doesn't just learn the songs, they truly study them, note for note. Their secret is in the attention to every detail. Their live show, which includes several costume changes, leave Beatles' fans in AWE!! This has earned them rave reviews; both nationally and internationally. RAIN not only looks like they're having fun on stage, they truly are. It is this last ingredient that has kept RAIN together for so many years and earned them the reputation as:
